GTA Intergroup Response to Media Inquiries

Re: Settlement of Human Rights Application

The groups that collectively comprise the GTA Intergroup are mindful of the principle encapsulated in Tradition 10 of the 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous that the Alcoholics Anonymous name ought not to be drawn into public controversy, which would include discussing this matter through the media.

It is the view of the GTAI that the matter of the complaint and the settlement is best left to the collective conscience of the A.A. members in the Greater Toronto Area.

In addition, the only individuals who might appropriately comment on this matter are members of Alcoholics Anonymous and they, for perhaps obvious reasons, are disinclined to make themselves available to the media.
